• All prints are the highest–quality C–type digital photo prints made by the world's leading fine art and photographic printers (with print studios in UK and Germany), using the very best equipment and finest materials.

Silver–based digital C–type prints are archival photographic prints produced by a chemical process on light–sensitive archival photographic papers. So in this sense, a C–type is what you might call a true photographic print, producing a rich traditional feel in the final print.

C–type printing is a continuous tone process where colours are rendered at the molecular level during the chemical process (as opposed to inkjet printing where ink is applied in dots). This means C–types are capable of reproducing a much more refined tonal range. As a result, C–type prints have a deep rich tonal range and are superior at handling subtle tonal changes and darker tones definition.

So, in conclusion, what are C–type prints? It’s the darkroom in the digital age – true photographic prints.

  • Paper type plays an important role in the archival quality of the final print. Cheaper papers produce prints with a lower archival lifespan. Papers here are the best–in–class professional archival photographic papers to ensure the maximum achievable lifespan for your print, with an archival life expectancy of 40 years in average daylight conditions.

  • All prints are fully end–to–end carbon neutral, including deliveries. This means that my print and delivery partners optimise their energy usage and offset all of their carbon emissions, where these are unavoidable, by investing in renewable energy projects.

Also, they extract the silver residue and recycle by–products of the photographic process after the prints have been made since these are valuable raw materials – the C–type process uses precious metal silver as its fundamental component to achieve the highest–quality prints.

  • The materials used to produce your orders have been carefully selected to reduce the impact on the environment whilst still ensuring your orders get to you in perfect condition.
